Alushta Conference: The Project's Contribution
The ZHORNA Project team organized Day of Internatuinal Journalism at the scientific conference of Ukraine’s higher schools of journalism in Alushta at the end of September.
 
Experts, brought to the conference by the Projec, presented papers on modern methods of teaching journalismt: Michael Foley (Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland); Linda Christmas (City University and The Guardian Foundation, Britain); Danilo Leonardi (Oxford University, Britain); Niam Nolan (Ireland’s TV and Radio).
 
David Goldberg and Troels Larsen (Oxford University, Britain) held a master class on media law, while one of the Project’s key experts, Marek Bekerman, presented a master class on practical methods of teaching radio journalism. Another key expert, Andriy Kulykov, took part in workshops on using the i-Learn distance learning system, and on organizing students’ internships.
 
The Project’s team leader, Tony Howson, co-chaired the conference’s plenary sessions.
 
Ukrainian academics from Kyiv, Tavria and Uzhgorod national universities, the Project’s partner schools, shared knowledge and skills of developing advanced methods of teaching journalism, acquired with the Project’s help, with their colleagues from other schools of higher learning.
